today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to go forward. And you lift up your staff and, with hand outstretched over the sea, split the sea in two, that the Israelites may pass through it on dry land.
Lead on. He will not let you or others down. He keeps His promises.
8. We are easily discouraged
As God changes us and our life, we go through bouts of doubts, sometimes very strong, to the point of despair.
One day, I went to mass and the gospel was about the time when Saint Peter decided to climb out of the boat while there was a storm to go to Jesus, who was on the surface of the water. Midway, he started to doubt and began to sink. He cried out to Jesus to which Jesus replied “What are you afraid? O you of so little faith".
This is what God explained to me:
Having faith and keeping in faith has a wonderful emotional and psychological effect. When we believe that God will save us and make all things better...no matter what the circumstances of our life are, we are full of optimism and confidence. Nothing can drag us down. When our faith in God falters, we sink emotionally and psychologically ---we are full of dread and fear and the storm of life defeats us.
This is what happens to most of us when we are going through a difficult time, when everything is wrong and nothing seems right in our life and we turn to God for help. The storm around us can become so overwhelming and frightening and we see no end in sight. And as we walk towards God, the storm is not ceasing... so, we start to doubt, and we sink--- we lose hope. It is also during this time that we have difficulty hearing God and we feel that He has left us alone, which makes us sink even deeper:
